It’s the week of the Big Cs: Covid, Cuomo and Conman Trump and that’s just where we begin this week on The Halli Casser-Jayne Show Podcast when joining me at my table to discuss the latest political news is my partner in politics former White House correspondent and Newsweek and Time alum, Matthew Cooper.

Covid-19 is back with a vengeance and the state of Florida is ground zero for the pandemic surge. One out of every 2000 Floridians has been hospitalized with the virus, but the state’s Governor Ron DeSantis is more concerned with playing to his MAGA followers than the well-being of Florida’s residents. He has refused to mandate masks in schools despite the fact that Florida’s school age children are now a key target of the Covid-19 virus. European papers are calling DeSantis “The Pied Piper leading [Florida] off a cliff.” While he should have done it sooner President Biden finally chastised DeSantis telling Republican governors “to get out of the way” of increased state measures to curb the Covid-19 pandemic. And on another front, an investigation into Democratic New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo found that he sexually harassed multiple current and former state government employees, announced state Attorney General Letitia James. Will Cuomo resign or face impeachment? Time will tell. And what about Conman Trump’s attempted coup? There’s more news on that front. Let’s get started.
