BradMeltzerBookHistory is at the heart of The Halli Casser-Jayne Show, Wednesday July 1, 3 pm ET when New York Times bestselling author and  The History Channel’s host Brad Meltzer joins Halli at her table to talk about his new thriller THE PRESIDENT’S SHADOW, the third chapter following archivist Beecher White and the Culper Ring. And what would a conversation about history be without a visit with Pulitzer Prize-winning historian and author Doris Kearns Goodwin? You will love our chat about politics, baseball, history and more.

Brad Meltzer is the #1 New York Times bestselling author of THE INNER CIRCLE, THE BOOK OF FATE and seven other bestselling thrillers. In addition to his fiction, he is one of the only authors to ever have books on the bestseller list for non-fiction, advice, children’s books and even comic books. Meltzer is also the host of “Brad Meltzer’s Lost History” on H2 and “Brad Meltzer’s Decoded” on the History Channel. The Hollywood Reporter recently put him on their list of Hollywood’s 25 Most Powerful Authors. Now Meltzer returns to the thrillers — “the house that I built with my own two hands” as he calls them — with the release of THE PRESIDENT’S SHADOW.

FUEL FOR MORNING THOUGHTS…

Written by Halli Casser-Jayne on . Posted in HC-J Blog

Good morning, everyone!

Today I’ll be prepping for tomorrow’s The Halli Casser-Jayne Show, The REAL Greatest Generation: Washington, Jefferson, Lafayette. So history buff that I am, I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to immerse myself in the lives of three great men for the next couple of days, as I’ve been doing all week.

Tonight is the second State of the Union for President Obama. From George Washington to President Obama this country has come a long way baby, hasn’t it? As bad as things seem these days, it really has been a remarkable journey for a country that the Brits said never could happen, and at which too many in the world continue to scoff.

Yes, these are hard times, and our leaders appear to be less heroic in comparison to the men we will discuss tomorrow. The nation as a whole is more angry than inspired. Is it a leadership problem? This question and more we will discuss tomorrow with our guests, Susan R. Stein, the Richard Gilder Senior Curator and Vice President of Museum Programs at Monticello in Charlottesville, VA, Nancy Hayward Director of Educational Outreach at Mount Vernon, and Marc Leepson, author of the book Saving Monticello and Lafayette.

Join me and my guests 3 pm ET. You can listen right here.

Have a great day!

Halli
