FUEL FOR MORNING THOUGHTS…
Today I’ll be prepping for tomorrow’s The Halli Casser-Jayne Show, The REAL Greatest Generation: Washington, Jefferson, Lafayette. So history buff that I am, I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to immerse myself in the lives of three great men for the next couple of days, as I’ve been doing all week.
Tonight is the second State of the Union for President Obama. From George Washington to President Obama this country has come a long way baby, hasn’t it? As bad as things seem these days, it really has been a remarkable journey for a country that the Brits said never could happen, and at which too many in the world continue to scoff.
Yes, these are hard times, and our leaders appear to be less heroic in comparison to the men we will discuss tomorrow. The nation as a whole is more angry than inspired. Is it a leadership problem? This question and more we will discuss tomorrow with our guests, Susan R. Stein, the Richard Gilder Senior Curator and Vice President of Museum Programs at Monticello in Charlottesville, VA, Nancy Hayward Director of Educational Outreach at Mount Vernon, and Marc Leepson, author of the book Saving Monticello and Lafayette.
Join me and my guests 3 pm ET. You can listen right here.
Have a great day!
Halli
