HAPPY NEW YEAR 2015

Written by Halli Casser-Jayne on . Posted in HC-J Blog

it's a wrap2015!!!!!!!!! What? How did we get here? There’s truth to that old saying that time flies when you’re having a good time. And a good time – no, a great time – we at The Halli Casser-Jayne Show had in 2014. A lot of that great time was thanks to all of you, both our listeners and our generous guests, all of you our friends who supported The Halli Casser-Jayne Show through our incredible journey of 2014. It was a heckuva year…

We began with spiritual leader Marianne Williamson and we were visited by award-winning writer Edwidge Danticat. From Jimmy Kimmel Live to our shores came one of our favorite chefs Norman Van Aken. We tackled rape Hollywood Style with a look at the Roman Polanski case with Samantha Geimer’s attorney, Laurence Silver. I had a delightful conversation with The Byrd’s founder and guitarist extraordinaire Roger McGuinn. I will never forget my interview with Anne Serling the gifted daughter of the creator of The Twilight Zone, Rod Serling. And how about that Academy Award winning conversation with our favorite actress Diane Ladd and our favorite raconteur Charlie Matthau? If you missed my conversation with celebrated talk show host Dick Cavett, be sure to catch the podcast. Oh, oh, oh, what fun! More authors came to talk: Wally Lamb and Kate Mosse, James Lee Burke and so many more. And how about our look at The Ivory Trade, at World War I and World War II, and our discussion with our best and brightest friends from Israel? Did you miss our exploration of the world of Yoga? Our trip to Cuba, or our trip across America with filmmaker/author John Waters? One of my favorite interviews in 2014 was with Seinfeld head writer Peter Mehlman (his new book IT WON’T ALWAYS BE THIS GREAT one of my favorite reads this year!) And I will not soon forget my talk with the infamous John Dean of Watergate fame, or with the amazing Barbara Ehrenreich. You will love my interview with Rick Bragg, the Pulitzer Prize winning author of the new Jerry Lee Lewis biography of the same name. Loved Tavis Smiley and Gail Sheehy. And now, here we are ringing out the old and bringing in the new with our hysterically funny friend, Dave Barry!

Yes, it’s been a wonderful year on The Halli Casser-Jayne Show, and you can bet next year will be even better. To all of you, our devoted listeners and good friends, we wish you a very Happy New Year, one we hope to fill you with many new and delicious surprises.

With love and many thanks from Halli and the gang at The Halli Casser-Jayne Show.
